Hungarian Parliament

Our friend Zsuzsanna, the tour guide, offered to show us Budapest at night. She told us about how the Parliament lights up when it's dark outside, and she accompanied us by bike at sunset to show us her favorite views. This is Zsuzsanna (on the left) and Pascale (on the right):

We arrived in the center of the city, and watched the sun set over the Danube River. We biked around the area until it became dark enough for the Parliament lights to turn on:

Later on that night, we crossed the bridge to see the entire building from the other side of the Danube:

It was an undoubtedly beautiful view that I'm sure will remain vivid in my memory. We stayed in the city for a little bit to admire the sights, and then we eventually biked back to the apartment later that night. Pascale and I are leaving Budapest soon, to continue our trip into the countryside; I'll definitely miss this city, but I look forward to the rest of our travels!
