After leaving Vienna, we made our way to Slovakia. Pascale and I arrived in Bratislava in the late morning, after having biked from Austria in the rain. We also unknowingly arrived on the day of the International Ice Hockey Federation 2019 World Championship hosted in Bratislava... There were hockey fans everywhere in the city, and it was an unexpected surprise to see so many people from all around the world. Pascale and I roamed the city during the day, while it was less crowded:
In the evening the streets were slowly filling up with hockey fans, so Pascale and I went up to Bratislava Castle. We weren't able to go inside, but the castle grounds were pretty with nice views of the city:
I'd love to write more, but I only have access to internet for a couple of minutes so I have to wrap up this update. Later next week, we should be arriving in Budapest!
