French Student Visa

I finally was able to be scheduled for a visa appointment this month, which was the earliest date I could get. I was a bit worried that my updated passport would arrive late, but I got it last week! I organized all of my required forms earlier this week, so I was prepared to get my visa in time for my flight next month.

My appointment was at the VFS building in Chicago, so my dad and I drove up there in the morning. I'm originally from Chicago, so it was nice to visit. At around 12:45 pm, I went to get my visa. I went into a room with a woman who checked my documents and other application materials. She gave me a number, after which I went back to the waiting room. We then got called into another room, where they took my application again and requested some signatures. We went back to the waiting room, and then to one last office where they took my picture and scanned my fingerprint. I had printed two copies of my application just to be safe, and I was lucky because it turned out they wanted both.

Getting my French student visa was rather simple, and afterwards, my dad and I went to the French Market and spent the afternoon in the city.
